Thank you for stopping by, Arlene!
All about Arlene…
Arlene D. Lam is a twenty nine year old wife and mother. She resides in Northern California with her husband and son and is currently working on The Wedding. A story that revolves around Jasper and Margaret, two characters she feels deserve their own story.
1. How did you come with the idea for your current story (The Wedding)?
Well in truth it spiraled off from my first novel Rescued. There are two characters in there I just fell in love with. In truth there are several and I felt they deserved their own story.
2. What is your most interesting writing quirk?
I would say that it’s so unorganized. I write different parts and sort of piece it all together in the end.
3. What is in your To Read Pile that you are dying to start or upcoming release you can’t wait for?
I have The Help, Stand By Me and Whitney My Love all waiting to be consumed. After I finish those a whole other stack is waiting.
4. How do you spend your free time? Do you have a favorite place to go and unwind?
I live in the Bay Area so there is a ton to do. Usually though I go to San Francisco or to Monterey and relax on their beaches. I love the ocean. In fact today I just came from Monterey and enjoyed some unwinding with my family at the Monterey Bay Aquarium.
5. Can you share with us something off your bucket list?
I want to go to Greece. I’ve dreamed of it for years so it’s something I definitely will do. Hopefully soon.
6. What do you have in store next for your readers?
A prequel of sorts called The Wedding. I had so much fun writing Rescued and fell in love with all the characters. So much so I wanted to explore where each couple could take me. I’m excited about the release as it will be my second full length novel.
7. Is there anything else you’d like to share with your readers?
Only that I wish to thank each and every one of you. I can’t believe I’ve come this far and it makes my heart soar each time I read a review or hear that someone else has enjoyed my story. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
The fire that burned when they were together was consuming.
Her whole life Amelia was told what to do obediently following the rules her domineering aunt set forth. Right down to letting the woman choose the man she was to marry. However this was about to change because from the moment she laid eyes on Jordan Bradford the shy young maid was lost. But loving a man like him was beyond dangerous for more than the obvious reasons. However Amelia found herself throwing caution to the wind and willing to risk everything for just one kiss.
Intriguing and honest Jordan was drawn to Amelia instantly. Shy and witty Jordan knows that deep down there is a woman just waiting to be set free if only those around her would let her. Still he knew pursuing her was not an option. And even if it was she was already promised to another man. Yet every time she was near that knowledge was lost to him. Wasn’t forbidden fruit always sweeter? It was an added luxury that whenever he was in her presence his past seemed just that, the past. Just one look and a flame long though extinguished was awakened in him. So much so that Amelia was a woman Jordan decided needed to be rescued.
