1. How did your life as a writer begin?
When I was about twelve years old. It started off with simple poetry and throughout the years it escalated into writing children’s books and now novels. My poetic achievements have been recognized by The International Who’s Who in Poetry.
My inspiration to write comes from just about anything. I honestly believe that with extreme vivid imagination, even the mundane can become magnificent.
3. Tell us about your writing process. Do you outline or are you more of a seat of your pants type of writer?
I most definitely outline every little detail from the beginning all the way to the last page. I even jot down notes on how I want my characters’ conversations to flow while I’m outlining the chapters. I‘m like OCD about it.
4. What is your highest goal that you desire to meet as an author?
To be able to create amazing stories that my readers can’t put down while anticipating what the next book’s going to be about.
5. Who is the one author that you would love to meet someday and why?
Stephen King. I’ve always been a huge fan of his. He seriously fascinates me with his creative visualization. Mr. King’s writing, to me, is absolutely ingenious!
6. What is the best piece of advice you would give to someone that wants to get into writing?
Put all your heart into it and never be afraid of what others think. Writing is a beautiful form of expression. Have fun with it!
7. What do you have in store next for your readers?
My latest release is The Spirit Within and can be found at barnesandnoble.com, amazon.com, lulu.com, smashwords.com and also at diesel.com. It’s a great novel about a young lady named Cassandra Blakemore who finds a hidden strength within her that helps her to overcome some really difficult obstacles in her life and all the while, she discovers that she has supernatural abilities that she never knew existed.
I’m currently working on the sequel to The Spirit Within which is actually going to be a three-part story that I’m extremely excited about! This trilogy is so full of magical possibilities that will leave the reader gripping the edge of the seat, knuckles white, while impatiently waiting for more.
I also have a children’s series that I’ve been working on. The first story is titled, Sydney & John and can be found at barnesandnoble.com and smashwords.com. It’s a fun cartoon book about how true friendship can overcome bullying. The second book titled, Sydney & John in Middle School Jitters will be released soon and it’s about how the acceptance of change can be something positive. The Sydney & John children’s series is full of fun stories that are wonderful for beginning readers.
So, be on the lookout for the sequel to The Spirit Within and the second installment in my Sydney & John series. Two more awesome books that will make the perfect additions to any avid reader’s collection.
A typical battered woman/love triangle tale with a unique supernatural twist.
Who is Cassandra Blakemore? Well, to her friends and family she’s simply known as “Cassy” who’s got the perfect life. She attends college, has a cute boyfriend, awesome friends and loving relatives. Except that charming boyfriend, Raleigh Nichols, ends up being her worst nightmare. One minute he’s a sweet and caring guy, then after a few drinks, he completely flips out by becoming abusive in ways that Cassy’s never seen before.
After experiencing what has tragically broken Cassy’s heart, she eventually flees to another city in search of a new beginning. But just when everything finally starts to go well, Cassy realizes that even she isn’t who she thinks she is.
She soon discovers abilities that she never knew existed within her. Powers like premonition, levitation and telekinesis. This all too familiar story comes with a supernatural twist that will delight every reader.
Raleigh took his hand and slowly brought my chin up to meet his gaze. He began kissing me tenderly. I resisted at first, but that didn’t stop him. He pressed his lips harder on mine forcing me to respond. I weakened and imagined he was Drew.
Swept up in the moment, my desires gave way. Our kissing became more passionate and fluid. Our breathing intensified. His lips left mine and lingered softly down my chin continuing to the base of my neck. His warm breath tickled my skin.
Then he spoke, almost inaudibly. “I love you.”
“Ssshh…. Don’t speak.” I whispered because hearing his voice distorted my illusion of Drew. It may have been wrong, but I didn’t care.
Raleigh brought his lips back up to mine then whisked me off my feet. He carried me to the bedroom where my fantasy with Drew quietly continued.
